Committed to Preserving the Perryman Peninsula
New concerns regarding the development of the Mitchell farm property include the potential construction of a data center. 4P is committed to preserving the natural beauty and ecological diversity of the Perryman Peninsula. We plan to acquire, preserve, and nurture the land for the benefit of current and future generations.
4P Frequently Asked Questions
4P- Perryman Peninsula Preservation Project is a non-profit organization with a goal of acquiring and maintaining green spaces to be shared by all residents of Harford County.
4P was formed to consider environmentally friendly uses of land as an alternative to industrial development on Perryman to include the 711-acre Mitchell farm property.
4P is getting the word out on how essential it is to preserve and enhancing remaining green space. We are seeking funds (through donations and grants) for exploring and establishing recreational, environmental, and historic parkland and for enhancing trails or other environmentally compatible uses on Perryman. 4P will be collaborating with other organizations to support like-minded efforts. 4P will also be conducting events to improve the environment (e.g., Adopt-A-Road) and to enjoy the natural beauty of Perryman.
4P is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a goal of acquiring and maintaining green space while the primary goal of 3P-Protect Perryman Peninsula is to ensure reasonable development of Perryman is compatible with the existing community and environment. Both organizations share similar goals, improving quality of life for Perryman and Harford County residents.
Help spread the word on the importance of preserving Harford County green space. Donate funds by going to the Community Foundation of Harford County website (https://cfharfordcounty.org/our-funds/). Volunteer-donate your time by either joining the Board or providing a service such as maintaining the 4P website. You can contact us at info@4p-preserveperryman.org for more details.
Perryman has a rich history ( see more) and is habitat to a large number of sensitive plants and wildlife (flora and fauna). Groundwater on the peninsula needs to be protected since it is the source of drinking water for 30% of Harford County. The quality of the Bush River and its watershed which feeds into the Chesapeake Bay needs to improve in order to sustain a healthy environment. Further industrial development is not compatible with the neighborhoods and critical environment of Perryman. All residents should be allowed quiet enjoyment of their own properties and to have access to beautiful community open spaces for recreational use.
